Competition Rules and Regulations


i. COMPETITION RULES

The competition is run under the Federation Equestrian International (FEI) Rules for Show jumping and Equestrian Australia (EA) Rules of Dressage.



ii. ATTIRE GUIDELINE

Competitors are required to dress for competition and presentation of prizes as stipulated:


Dressage: Preliminary to Elementary Levels
  • White, off-white, light canary or beige jodhpurs or breeches;
  • Short coat;
  • Riding boots, either long or short with black or brown.
  • Riders under 18 years - approved safety helmet;
  • Riders 18 years and over - hunt cap, bowler hat or approved safety helmet;
  • Gloves (white preffered), tie, stock or ratcatcher (color optional);
Optional as defined below:
  1. Spurs, whip, gaiters, monkey grip;
  2. Military personnel, police etc. may wear service uniform.

Dressage: Medium Level
  • White, off-white, light canary or beige jodhpurs or breeches;
  • Short coat;
  • Riding boots, either long or short, black or brown;
  • Riders under 18 years - approved safety helmet;
  • Riders 18 years and over - hunt cap, bowler hat or approved safety helmet;
  • Gloves (white preffered), tie, stock or ratcatcher (color optional);
Optional as defined below:
  1. Whip, gaiters, spurs, monkey grip;
  2. Top hat providing a double bridle is worn;
  3. Military personnel, police etc. may wear service uniform.

Dressage: Advanced Level
  • White or off-white breeches;
  • Black or dark blue tail coat, or short coat;
  • Long black riding boots (hunting top permitted), short boots permitted for riders under 18;
  • Riders 18 years and over - top hat, bowler hat, hunt cap or approved safety helmet;
  • Gloves (white preffered), tie or stock (color optional);
Optional as defined below:
  1. Spurs, whip, monkey grip;
  2. Military personnel, police etc. may wear service uniform.

Dressage: Prix St. George
  • White or off-white breeches;
  • Black or dark blue tail coat, or short coat with approved safety helmet;
  • Long black riding boots;
  • Riders 18 years and over - top hat, or approved safety helmet;
  • Riders under 18 years - approved safety helmet;
  • Gloves (white preffered), tie or stock (color optional);

Showjumping
  • Warm-up class: short/long sleeves with collar. Sleeveless and t-shirt without collar is not allowed;
  • White, off-white, light canary or beige jodhpurs or breeches;
  • Black or brown top boots;
  • Riders competing in events up to 100cm can compete without a jacket, however they must wear a shirt with sleeves and tie, or shirt and ratcatcher;
  • Riders competing in events above 100cm must wear a riding jacket;
  • Shirt must not be sleeveless, if long sleeves are worn they must be rolled down and buttoned;
  • Military personnel, police etc. may wear service uniform;
  • Riders competing in the Team Competition are allowed to wear their team uniforms. T-shirts without collars are not allowed.

iii) VETERINARY SCRATCHING
  • Entries cancelled after the Entries Closing Date must be verified with a Vet. Medical Certificate for a 50% refund of the Entry Fees provided that the cancellation is done before Wednesday, 30 September 2009 by 6.00pm


iv) STABLING
  • Temporary stables are available at RM 50.00 per day.
  • Permanent stables are available at RM 80.00 per day on a first come first serve basis, only limited numbers are available.
  • Stables for tack room use are also available at RM50.00 per day and subject to availability.
  • Temporary and Permanent Stable Request Forms are attached as Appendix 4 and Appendix 5.
  • Payment of stabling must be made together with payment of entries by 30 September 2009.

v) DRUG TESTING

Random drug testing maybe carried out througout the event.


vi) VACCINATIONS

Horses competing must be inoculated against Equine Influenza and Japanese B Virus. All horses should be accompanied with passport and certificate, or copy of passport and certificate with their latest inoculations and clearance of the NIPAH VIRUS to gain entry into the Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya compound. If this condition is not complied, horses entry into Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya compound and competition WILL BE DENIED .


vii) QUARANTINE

All imported horses entering Malaysian for the first time are required to undergo a period of seven days quarantine in overseas quarantine stables before being permitted to enter Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya. Only horses that are accompanied by a health certificate issued by the veterinary authority of the exporting places are allowed to enter Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya ground.


viii) ADMINISTRATION FEE
An administration fee of RM120.00 per rider will be charged. Riders will be given RM30.00 worth of PCS Money when payment of this fee is made.

ix) HORSE NUMBERS
Horse identification numbers are available for collection at the Tournament Office on Wednesday, 30 September 2009. Participating horses must wear these numbers once they have received it.

Horse numbers should always be worn on bridle or saddlecloth whenever the horse is being ridden or walked.

x) TECHNICAL BRIEFING
Technical Briefing will not be held prior to Premier Cup Series 2. Therefore each rider, coach and/or owner is responsible to know the competition rules set out in the Invitation Program. Judges will be available at Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya on Wednesday, 30 September 2009, at 6pm to answer any queries.

xi) INSURANCE

All owners and competitors are personally responsible for Damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees, their agents and their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep their policy up to date.


xii) HOUSE RULES

The Management of Taman Ekuestrian Purtajaya requires all riders to be in proper riding attire i.e. hard hats, riding boots, and shirts during the show. It is compulsory for riders to wear hard hats, riding helmets or approved safety headgear when mounted.


xiii) SERVICE AREA

The Service Area is located at the designated area near to the stable complex.


xiv) HORSE WALKS

Horse walking around the stable complex or going to the training grounds must use the horse-walks only. Horses are not allowed to walk or exercise on service road and service area.


xv) STABLES
Vehicles are PROHIBITED from entering the stable complex. Washing of horses should be done at WASH-DOWN BAYS ONLY and not inside the stables.

xvi) DUNG DISPOSAL

You are provided with plastic bags for the disposal of dung and other refuse. The dung must be removed from the sawdust daily and off in a proper manner. At the end of the show, all stables must be cleaned of dung and left over feed. The Organiser reserves the right to bill any participating club the cost of cleaning the stables.
